I never really used Facebook credits. Every once in awhile I will send someone a birthday cake and just pay a dollar. The other day I was thinking about buying some points to buy things in Restaurant City and saw that you could exchange the Facebook credits for PlayFish points. Soon after Facebook "magically" gave me twenty Facebook credits. Now I am searching for free Facebook credits. Here is what I found:

1) Five easy credits: Just add the game Hello City. Once you get in the game there is a place to click to get five Facebook credits. It takes under two minutes. Easy. Go here to play the game: http://apps.facebook.com/hello-city

2)Obtain your free Facebook Credits (between 10 and 105 Credits) when you convert in a single transaction at least 5 U.S. dollars (in coins only) into a Rixty eCertificate or cash receipt at participating Coinstar Centers. The redemption information will be displayed at the end of qualified Coinstar receipts.

These are two I have verified. Beware of scams. They are showing up everywhere.

When you are in your restaurant, look on the right hand side and you will see the gardens. The first one is unlocked at level 6. More are unlocked as you level up.

To plant a seed, click on an unlocked plot. Each seed costs 2000 coins, click OK to plant.

Once you have planted your seed, if you hover over it you will see two times shown. The top time is how long until the ground becomes dry. You can water your seed to extend the amount of time by clicking the plot where a seed is planted. The timer will max out at 9 hours. If your plant becomes completely dry, it will stop growing until you water it again. Each plant will take 48 hours to grow when fully watered.

When you plant a seed, it will grow randomly into an ingredient, these include:
Basil
Bayleaf
Coffee Beans
Coriander
Garlic
Ginger
Mint
Oregano
Saffron
Sugar
Tea Leaves
Vanilla
Wasabi

Just click on the plant when it is grown to harvest.

The Gourmet King can be found in your restaurant, in your friends’ restaurants or even out on the street! If you find him and click on him he will give you the option of posting a recipe, ingredient or item to your Facebook wall. Once you publish this, any friend can click the link which says “Claim your free gift now!” to collect the recipe, ingredient or item. If your friends find him and publish to their wall, you can click their “Claim your free gift now!” link to gain a recipe, ingredient or item.

You can only receive a maximum of 20 ingredients or items in any 24 hour period. This means that if you have collected 20 within the last 24 hours, you will have to wait until 24 hours after the first to collect your next ingredient, and 24 hours after the second to collect the next after that, ensuring that you do not exceed 20 in any 24 hours. Each Gourmet King link is only valid for 48 hours.

1. How do I earn coins?

The main way to earn coins is by having your hotel running. Each type of room and commercial room has different earning amount.

You can also earn additional coins from:
Clicking money bags in some of your friend’s hotels each day. There will be a money bag icon next to their picture in your friends list if there’s a money bag available.

Poking sleeping hotel guests: hover your mouse over a guest and click to poke, sometimes this can give coins.

You can only get a maximum of 20 money bags and poking rewards per day.

Tips – You can earn tips when you have a job in a friends hotel. Each time they start a shift you will be able to visit their hotel and click the tip jar in room. the room you work in. The tip jar refreshed only when your friend starts shifts.

Tasks - If you see a green phone towards the bottom of your screen, click it and it will tell you a task. Look around your hotel for the room with the issue and click it to complete the task and earn some coins!

Feed awards – sometimes when your friends decorate a room, etc they will post a feed to their Facebook wall, sometimes clicking will allow you to earn free coins.

2. How do I start a shift?

Click the “Start Shift” button in the lower left corner, then select the shift length and cost from the choices provided.

3. How do I earn Hotel Points?

-Having your hotel running

-Feed awards – sometimes when your friends level up, etc they will post a feed to their Facebook wall, sometimes clicking will allow you to earn free hotel points.

4. I’ve put a room in the wrong place, how do I fix it?

If you want to move a room, open your build menu and you should be able to drag your rooms around. If you no longer want a room, you can click and drag it back into the build menu.


5. Should I buy pre-decorated rooms?

Many pre-decorated rooms are cheaper than what the cost would be of buying those decorations and the room separately, and start off with a relatively high decoration rating.

7. What does my star rating mean?

The higher your star rating is, the more guests will enter, meaning you have greater potential to earn both coins and Hotel Points.

8. How do I get rid of items I no longer want?

You can sell unwanted items back to the store for around a third of the initial purchase price. To do this open either Redecorate or Build and drag items to the register. Items in your rooms will be sold if you sell a room containing items, so make sure you remove any decorations you wish to keep in Redecorate mode first.

Do the more expensive stoves cook faster?

No, the more expensive stoves do not cook faster. Sad, but true. In most cases the really ugly stuff works exactly the same as the expensive cute stuff. If you are trying to level up, save your cash.

How do I stop my Popularity going down when I am not using the game?

You can use the ‘Redecorate’ button to remove any doors on your restaurant while you are not using it. This will stop customers coming in and getting upset if you are resting your employees, or your employees need food or rest. You can also put a table, plant, etc. in front of your door(s) to stop customers coming in.

How can I get new ingredients?

There are 5 ways to get ingredients.

By visiting a new friend that you have never visited before.
By trading with friends.
By simply logging in to the game after Midnight GMT.
By getting a correct answer in the everyday quiz. Check your mailbox everyday.
By buying ingredients in the ingredients market.

What difference does it make what dish I serve?

No. Sad, but true again. Stick with items with less ingredients so you can level up faster. You earn more Gourmet Points by serving a dish that is levelled up.

What are the ways to make money?

You earn coins from serving customers at your restaurant. You can also earn coins by picking up trash. Try clicking on the trees around your restaurant and your friends’ restaurants to shake them. Sometimes coins fall out.
